Hi Sean,
at last someone has knocked this on the head.
It has been common sense for a long time that for general communications the Mehrabian percentages were all wrong.
I had a vested interest in this because I am one of those salespeople who takes a lot of care with the words I use and pays close attention to the words my prospects use. Of course I listen to the tone as well but there is a lot of meat in the words and the assumptions inherent in them.
Thanks again for the myth busting.
